Immediate former Governor of Imo State and Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District has been arrested on the order of Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State.
Senator Rochas Okorocha was arrested on Sunday for unsealing the Royal Palm Estate which was sealed on Friday by the State Government through an operation supervised by the Commissioner for lands, Survey and Physical Planning Development, Enyinaya Onuegbu.
The Estate located at Akachi area of Owerri in which a modern Hotel and other structures were built was linked to the wife of the former Governor, Nkechi Okorocha and tagged as one of the looted properties of the state by the Judicial Panel Set Up by Governor Uzodinma.
Senator Okorocha broke the keys used to seal the Estate in an attempt to take the custody of the Hotel back from the State Government. The action of the former governor led to the government loyalists to confront Okorocha team and the crisis left some people injured.
People interviewed by Classic correspondence were of the opinion that the Law Maker should have gone to challenge Uzodinma government in court than taking law into his own had. Governor Hope Uzodinma has earlier signed a gazette to confiscate the Estate from the Okorochas.
