The Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions District 404 A1 in Ikorodu area of Lagos State has again puts smiles and succor on the faces of some people within and outside Ikorodu.
The club under the leadership of its President – Lion (Com) Adefunke Oluranti Esan NLCF has recently sponsored 12 Cataract Surgeries at The Eye Foundation in Ijebu Mushin area of Ogun State. The Cataract surgical operations, which were carried out on the 24th and 25th of January, 2021, was done for 12 patients in Ijebu Mushin, Ogun State. The 12 patients were among the 22 people shortlisted for cataract Surgeries during the Eyes Screening Exercise on 8 October 2020.
Lion (Com) Olufunke Esan recently disclosed this in Lagos, Nigeria in a chat with the Publisher of Classic International Magazine: Omo-Bashorun Bayo Lawal.
Lion Adefunke Oluranti Esan couldn’t hide her happiness on the success of the eye operation stated that Lions Club has no boundary when it comes to making life and living better for the people. She said Ikorodu Metro Lions Club that has been serving humanity for the past 17 years of its existence. Loin Esan promised that the Club is poised to do more in ensuring life and environment become better for the people through its 5 Core Areas of serving humanity.
According to the Ikorodu Metro Lions Club President, the Lions Club’s 5 core Areas includes Vision, Feeding the Hungry, Pediatric Cancer Awareness, Diabetes Awareness and Environment.
Lion Esan said that in its bid to reduce hunger among the people, the Metro Club regularly donates foods and other necessaries out to the needy.
Lion Esan specifically mentioned that, Ikorodu Metro Lions Club was at Lagos State Rehabilitation Centre in Owutu area of Ikorodu, Lagos State on 16 January 2021 to donate some food items, clothes and provision among other things for the inmates to feel the breeze of good life.
2020 Week of Vision
Talking further on the Cataract Surgery operations, Lion (Com) Adefunke Esan NLCF said that during club Vision Week of 2020 the Club collaborated with Eye Foundation in Ijebu Mushin through which the Foundation Doctors carried out eye tests on some people. After the tests, we gave 40 patients free eye drugs and 121 patients received free eyeglasses besides 28 people who were booked for cataract surgery. The surgery operations scheduled for this year were recently carried out in January 2021.
Babatunde Shobowale Led The Patient To Ijebu Mushin
The 1st Vice President of the Club, Lion Babatunde Shobowale NLCF, led the patients to Ijebu Mushin for the successful Cataract operations on behalf of President Lion (Com) Adefunke Oluranti Esan NLCF.
All the patients thanked Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club for sponsoring the Cataract Surgery operations and pray for continuous blessings of God on the Club and its Members.
