#EndSARS: Classic Magazine Publisher Bayo Lawal Attacked

The Publisher of Classic Magazine Omo-Bashorun Bayo Lawal was on Saturday evening attacked by hoodlums operating under the name of #EndSARS Now in Ikorodu.

The publisher was attacked and injured at Idi-Iroko, a space between Agric and Ogolonto area of Ikorodu while driving on Ikorodu /Lagos road with his friend prince Kunle Ajetunmobi to reach his Lagos office at Ilupeju.

“I saw how it started, it was on Saturday 17th October, while my friend and I were  in the hold up at Idi Iroko area of Ikorodu, they(hoodlums) entered the road in their hundreds forcefully breaking into cars in the static hold up with dangerous weapons like cutlasses, iron rods, knives and others demanding for phones and money”. The publisher narrated.

The hoodlums closed the Ogolonto junction of the Ikorodu /Lagos road with burning fires and were shouting #EndSARS Now and only allowed one vehicle at a time that led to heavy traffic hold up on the ever busy road.

The pre-planned rubbery and vehicle destruction operations suddenly started when the hoodlums were well satisfied with the quantity of vehicles in the hold up.

According to Omo-Bashorun Bayo Lawal, the hooligans suddenly and forcefully rushed into the static traffic hold up en mass from nowhere with all sort of dangerous weapons demanding for phones and money, and smashing cars windscreen and windows to disposes peoples of their valuables.

“Our escape was due to mercy of God. I put on the inner light of the car and realised blood was running out of my head. It was the blood we used to escape from hoodlums. I told my friend to keep the inner light on for us to use it to escape. Other hoodlums with the intention of rubbing us again desist from melting further harassment on us as the blood flowing from my head was evidence of earlier operation by their gang members. I also took to screaming of pain to attract their sympathy. God made all to work” Omo-Bashorun Bayo Lawal explained.

Asking him about those things he lost to the hoodlums, Omo-Bashorun Bayo Lawal narrated that apart from the injury sustained, the hoodlums forcefully took his wallet away. According to him the wallet contained his Driver License, Voter’s Card, National Identity Card, ATM Cards and various Complementary cards among others.
