The popular ebony and charismatic paramilitary lady officer from Delta state, Adenike Oma-Odoh recently celebrated her 40th birthday with prayers, fun and appreciations in the Delta State Capital Asaba.
The cheerful and charismatic paramilitary officer started the day with a prayer session, which she called personal-family prayer with our husband and the children at exactly 12:00am.
Adenike’s husband who is presently out of the country and couldn’t make the birthday due to the lockdown joined the prayer online through zoom conferencing. Adenike who was smiling all through said the prayer period lasted for about 30 minutes.
“You know, I have to appreciate God for the journey so far, the Lord has been faithful to me right from the beginning of my life till today.” She joyfully said.
She further said “God gave me the opportunity to be a wife ,a mother , a sister ,a daughter a friend”.
She further stated that, “I just have to thank my God and there is no how I can thank Him enough.
My wonderful family background, my husband and my children. My work, in everything, God has just been too wonderful to me.”
Though, Adenike is not a Yoruba woman but all her praises to God were mostly done with Yoruba songs throughout the day. “I love Yoruba songs because Yoruba people are so good in using songs in praising God. From my name, you should know my parents love Yoruba people despite the fact that we are Deltans, they gave each of their children at least one Yoruba name. I was brought up in Lagos anyway.” Adenike explained.
After the personal-family prayers, Adenike with her children and a brother and sister of her enjoyed themselves with good foods and drinks. They also cooled themselves down with cool music.
“I enjoyed myself with my children, my brother and my maid. My husband was joining us from time to time. It was fun throughout. I didn’t feel the impact of Coronavirus lockdown much as we were happy indoor.” Adenike expressed her happiness.
Adenike online birthday kicked off at 4 pm with opening prayers and sermon from the pastor of her church, Pastor A. A. Pentecost Adeniyi of Living Word Gospel Mission. Pastor A. A. Pentecost Adeniyi online prayers and sermon lasted for about 20 minutes after which her friends across the world kick started the birthday party.
“The celebration party lasted for about 2 hours. I wouldn’t say the celebration has ended; Marking 40 is a milestone for me so it’s a continuous celebration until old age. In that way one keeps growing younger as the day go by, I am so happy for four decades, I have seen myself grow and have learnt so much from each stage of my life and still learning.” Adenike expressed her joy.
